ALMOST two dozen young handball teams from across the North of England took part in the first round of the Under-15 Northern Schools Handball Competition recently.
Eight teams did battle in Bolton, while Culcheth near Warrington saw 15 teams in action.
With many new players on show, the thrilling matches resulted in six boys teams and four girls teams progressing through to the next round of the event.
Boys: Upton-by-Chester, Royton and Crompton, Great Sankey, De La Salle, Culcheth and Blacon High School. Girls: Blacon High School, Birchwood, Parrswood and Siddal Moor Sports College.
They will be competing at Culcheth High School on May 24 to find the North Winner and the two boys teams and two girls teams who will be going to the National finals in June.
