EAST Milton School won the Scottish Schools Handball Tournament staged at Kelvin Hall as part of the pre-match entertainment prior to the GB v Austria clash on Wednesday.
They beat Struthers 10-4 in the final, and were presented with their Cup and medals by GB captain Lynn McCafferty, from nearby Cumbernauld.
East Milton never conceded more than three goals on their way to the final of the competition, which saw some superb handball played by the mixed teams from eight schools.
In contrast, East Milton scored a total of 83 goals in their seven games, averaging an impressive 11 goals per match.
As well as East Milton and Struthers, other schools competing were St Mary’s, Heathery Knowe, Greenhills, Baird Memorial, Caledonia and Troon.
