UNIVERSITY College London came out on top after a four-team handball tournament among four universities in London recently.
As the only one of the competitors with experience of playing handball, UCL came out on top - but they didn’t have it all their own way.
A promising-looking Bedfordshire University team inflicted a 6-5 defeat on a UCL team who played in the Development League for the first time last season, but then lost out 8-7 to Letsgetfitforsports, a team made up of PGCE students from South East London.
Other teams competing included London Metropolitan University, who played well despite being short of numbers.
UCL topped the table, while just one point behind was Bedfordshire. And Letsgetfitforsport finished third.
The event was organised by Chris Smith from the City of London as well as Marc Fayemi from Ruislip Eagles and Tobi Julen from Olympia.
